Shattering Stars (BRD Maat’s Guide)

This is a DEF route best suited for a TARUTARU. If you are another race you would try to go for Evasion (Hume,mithra,Elvaan) or even Attack (Galka).
I’ll just describe how my match was, you don’t have to follow it letter by letter.

EQUIPMENT

• Carapace set: This set is composed by Head, body and hands only; on Ragnarok those pieces are “easy prey” regarding price, the total amount will be less than 100k.
• Artifact Legs and Shoes: Decent amount of DEF and class skills. Go for it!
• Cermet Sword and Elegant Shield: You should have shield from your regular equip. Cermet is easily crafted with cheap ingredients. Just ask a friend with some alchemy skilled up. (Mine was signed too^^). If you have tons of friends willing to help you, you can try camping NM in Seas Serpent Grotto that drops Joyeuse; it’s a lvl 80ish~ mob but the drop chance is 100%. Unfortunately seems camped almost 24/7. Never checked that, just rumors.
• Opo opo Necklace: This item is NEEDED. You absolutely need that for your first mighty strike.
  Maybe you already got it for free while doing Zilart missions. If you did ZM but you did not trade the Garnet you can do it now. Going through Ifrit’s Cauldron seems more dangerous than it is. Actually I’ve never got killed there, you need only to pay attention to bombs wich detects spell casting. So you would considerate to take alonge some oils and powders. If you don’t want to wait at sprouts you may want to bring along three Ice cluster, but usually there is one bomb there, so you can’t remove your invisible, otherwise….hehe, bye world.
• Gleeman’s belt, Beetle Earring +1, Beetle Earring, Jester Cape, Balance Ringx2: Just some regular exp things (belt and cape) and some stupid low price rings/earring i found in ah.
• Oliphant, Flute +1: Flute for Requiem and Oliphant is nice for meleeing. It gives you some atk and accuracy. Unfortunately I don’t have a Paeon++ instrument, bring yours if you have one.
• Blink Band: it can help but it’s not vital. Just ask for friends and maybe they’ve got it with some charges.

SKILLS
The required skill is only one. SWORD 175 MINIMUM, you ABSOLUTELY NEED Spirits Within. I had around 185 and worked fine, altough I missed him quite often.

ITEMS
Sleeping potions for the Opo-necklace trick, and aroung 15 Hi-pots. Buy a tank and you’ll save money.
Also a stack of Selbina Milk is a must. It’s you Finale blocker.

PRE-FIGHT INFOS
Basically you will use only Requiem, Finale, Paeon and Elegy.
This is only a GUESS of mine, but if you are another race you can try MamboX2 if you go for Evasion, or a mix of Paeon and EVA. I read in some forums that Galkas rock with double Minuet or Minuet+March

FIGHT
Enter BC naked. Maybe those are rumors only but the game should “record” those stats as soon as you enter. So it’s better if you give poor and low stats, don’t you think?
Before kickn’ Maat ass, you have to prepare yourself to fight. Sleep yourself and reach 100TP. Then use a blink band if you have one. DON’T TRY to re-blink while fighting because you’ll lose time and HPs for nothing. that item got an horrible use-delay time.
Also you a Selbina Milk, Soul Voice and proceed with PaeonX2 (or whatever you decided to sing).
Basically you’ll cast Finale, Requiem and Elegy, and occasionally Paeon. Be sure to re-paeon for the second time before SV ends. Also don’t forget Milk when he Finale you.
Pull with Elegy, then go for Finale and Requiem, and then use Spirits within. Keep fighting him trying to keep all the songs on him up. Elegy and Requiem will help alot to survive, and Finale will force him to rebuff, wasting his time.
He’ll use Soul Voice at the beginning of fight, but don’t mind it.
Relax and keep following this plan; he will use Asuran/Combo/Dragon kick while fighting, keep your HP around 450-500 minimum.

He will eventually retire at some random per cent under 25%. When I fought him he quit the fight at 15%.
